DSL is great, you've done a great job John.
(yada yada, I'm not being sarcastic, I'm just a bit low on the language side)

I've got this show-stopping problem: can't access the internet!
I'm using ADSL and connecting with PPPOE, Damn small linux and Flonix(based off it) both can't recognize my NIC.

At the boot screen:
Quote
Configuring network interfaces...
FAILED

This process works with Knoppix and various other (bloated) distros based off it. Even WINBLOWZ does.
I've tried using the ADSL/PPPOE configuration thingy but an ugly error messege pops out and tells me that no NIC is found. In flonix there is an additional BASH comment:
Quote
modconf: command not found

Well roughly like that, I just remembered 'modconf'

Any help? That's the only thing stopping me from doing an HD install right now :(

PS: Enmity is me.

Waht is strange is that internet works on VMWARE. In fact I'm typing this in damn small linux using VMware.

Maybe DSL doesn't have support for your network card. What card does you have (run 'lsmod' from the command line in vmware)?

Hi all, I am in the same boat. I would like to use DSL cause it's lean and mean but I can't get an internet connection to work. It works with some other distro's, Mandrake & Slackware to name 2.  It can't find any ethernet card when trying to detect one ( The limit of my linux knowledge ) I am using a motorola surfboard cable modem. I have searched the forum and try some things but have not been able to fix the problem. If anyone is using a motorola surfboard modem could you please tell me step by step how you got it to work.

Thanks in advance
