I have a Dell laptop with a Broadcom Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN Mini PC Card.  DSL wont configure it !

When I run lspci it says;

Netowrk Controller : Broadcom Corporation: Unknown 4318 (rev 02)

How do I get this Wireless card working in DSL ?

Could you please change your font color? I can't even read what you wrote.

OK, I could read it after I highlighted it. Ndiswrapper can be used with your Windows drivers for broadcom chipsets, I think. There are a couple of Broadcom .dsl packages in the mydsl repository. I don't know it they are for wireless or wired though.

This card seems to be a problem.  I've seen it on the board a few times.  It is also the card I have.

According to everyone else, it 'should' work with ndiswrapper.  I have not found this to be the case.  As near as I can tell, this card just won't work via DSL.

If anyone can prove otherwise, I'm all ears.

Before I trawl the www for instructions on how to get this card working.  Can anybody tell me if I'll be able to add my encryption key or will I have to turn off wep on my router ?

(I'm lazy so I'd rather go on ebay for a wifi card that works)

This is just hearsay, but, I had read somewhere that this card actually only works when there is a WEP key set.  Whether this is true or not I couldn't say.

I've gone through the ndiswrapper commands and everything appears to go ok but then my laptop hangs when I run the ndiswrapper -m command.

Or when I run modprobe ndiswrapper after the ndiswrapper -l to check its loaded.

Does anyone know why its hanging ?

I have been having the same problem with my dell 1370 wlan card in my latitude 110L. I've tried a couple different drivers but none have worked so far. Anyone had any luck getting this to work?
