Hi... how does one configure BetaFTPd..
The authors "BetaFTPd" page show very little info.

I have Damn Small Linux installed on Hard drive

The docs say to edit the "BetaFTPd.user" file but I've failed on finding an example on how-to or the location of the file GLOBAL_ROOT_DIR?

When I try and login I get a 530 error for password..

Or should I use a different program for a FTP Server maybe with a GUI (probably a bad word) :-)

I've used Linux for a very short time after many-many years using MS DOS & Windows 9x/XP.

My aim is to create a Box that runs an Static FTP Server - with users + paths
And also a Samba file server for MS Windows Workgroups.
Maybe a print server.

Would like to create a box that does basically the same as some of the commercial (NAS) network attached storage devices. (which are basically a cut down linux core on flash with a WEB configuration page).

I would like to get away from the 5 / 10 User limit of Windows XP using peer to peer networking.

Another few questions I have are..

How does one disable Power Saving that kicks in and disable the display after a few mins.
When running off Hard Drive should the installation have a Linux Swap partition?
If so how?

Or has some one already completed such a project..

Ta
