can anybody help me with setting up my network behind a corporate firewall? my network requires a logon name and password, and a logon to a specific server, oh and my computer name has to be a specific one as well. in this case is the computer name the same as the hostname? i'm confused...

How do you expect to get help if you do not provide any information?

The hostname is your computer name. The network server provides and stores the authentication , so you don't need that locally on your dsl machine. When you enter the netwok address, the network server should always ask for password and username. These are independant of the computer' hostname. i.e. you can log in from any computer as long as you supply a username and password.
