Haby,You have given little information on your exact problem. What system do you have? I am assuming that after doing an iwconfig ath0 scan, you get no results. I have the same card and have been able to get it working eventually (after quite a few weeks of trying) using DSL 2.1b rather than 2.4. on an old Compaq 1530d. If your wireless card has a Atheros wireless chip detected the madwifi-ng-2.4.26.uci extension in the MyDSL testing area will probably work. You can find it < HERE >. Otherwise you could try NdisWrapper with the windows drivers that were included with the card.

Ubuntu's wireless support became a total trainwreck with 6.06. Don't expect it to work well for you. Posted by kerry on June 10 2006,23:07
Let him go, he used dsl for 1 day and made 4 posts, he's not going to take the time to learn linux. Like i tell everyone who uses wireless over here, get a US robotics ethernet bridge it turns any wired system to wireless you set it once and forget it, you can jump from linux to linux and still have a connection with no setup.

You can also buy a Linksys WRT54g wireless router and install a Linux firmware update like Sveasoft or OpenWRT and you can turn it into a combination 4 port wireless Ethernet bridge and also a wireless repeater. Just use the "WDS" feature. The WRT54G are selling for an extra $10 over the price of a wireless adapter, so if you want a wireless desktop PC and/or gaming console with no special wireless driver issues, it is a great choice. |
