I have a 'park' of a Windows XP, a PC-BSD and DSL and I wonder how and where I can edit lan-settings for DSl so it can communicate to the other PC's

All are plugged into a router..

I have installed smbclient.

Are these devices utilizing DHCP ?
Does your router or some other device perform duties as a DHCP server ?
If that's not the issue, then:
When you say "communicate to the other PC's" are you talking about sharing files between them, etc.?
Please explain your question further so someone may know how to answer it.

If there is no dhcp server then you will need to run the netcardconfig to do the setup (here you will set the IP address for your DSL box on the network, i.e. lan settings).  If you have something acting as a dhcp (which you probably don't since DSL would detect that automatically at startup) you would select the first (default option) during netcardconfig.
