Well, you see I have a LAN that is protected because plenty of people are by my house everyday and i don't want anyone using our connection, but in DSL I used prism, wiconfig etc whatever I used all that stuff but I cant figure out how to connect to my network when its password protected, keep in mind that when I hadnt protected the connection that my damnsmalllinux computer automatically connected to the internet, what am i doing wrong? I have no idea what to choose between all the network connection options in dsl? all I want to do is connect to our home based wi-fi which is password protected!

ty in advance,

OMG! so many views and no one wants to help me, probably because my paragraph is unorganized and not very understandable or this issue is so difficult no one across the entire internet can answer it.
Well!, here is is this is a screenshot from my router showing what options I have. Maybe a Wi-fi Protected Access key would work easier? If wiconfig even accepts those?
Because, like this snapshot shows, the option of WEP encrypts into four different codes? What confuses me is if Im suppose to enter a password to encrypt and it separates it into four different password what do I use? whats the point of my original password to be decryted into four separate code snips?
Maybe someone out there can tell me of a prog for DSL that will search for any hotspot and can  let me easily select and enter the WEP or WPA
PLEASE! helllp me windows does not accept my wireless card! I hate using windows. I think it makes people more stupider and the stupider people get about technology the easier it is for big corporations like /\/\$ to cash in on money because people dont know how to do something on thier own!

WEP has been discussed many time. Depends which tool you use.
If the GUI from control panel then enter the hex digits as a single string with each pair colon seperated.

I think this is it. Hopefully if i understand the screen below my router will block all outside mac address' besides myself and my moms laptop, while still letting me access the internet.
