Hi all,

This is doing my head in. i've checked everywhere. ive searched google inside out, ive been and looked on all forums. Ive even PM'D "robberts"!

please can someone help

Im having some difficulty installing Wireless network on Damn small linux.

Here is my setup:
I have Laptop, which i am using as a server with DSL installed on HD.
I have a Thin Client which I run DSL from USB pen Drive.

Im using Belkin F5D7050B USB Wireless Adapter on the thin Client.
I have a 3com OfficeConnect Acces Point on Server.

I am using Ndiswrapper
Here are my commands:

ndiswrapper -i /pathto/your/drivers/inf
ndiswrapper –l

I get a message, driver installed but the “hardware present” does not appear

Installed ndis drivers:
Rt2500usb driver present,

I Know the drivers work on windows, i know the chip set is
correct. .sys and .inf files are in same location.
and i have checked: < http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/List >

Can you tell me why it is not detecting the hardware? Do I have any other

Can you take me through a step by step guide.

Thanks for your help

Dan

Ps when I type depmod –a
I get……

depmod: can’t open /lib/modules/2.4.26/modules.dep for writing

What does this mean?

I have replied to your pm regarding the depmod situation, however, I have not used ndiswrapper nor wifi - someone else will need to help you here.

Could you please keep me informed. I have the same problem with my Asus WL-167g usb adapter.

Thanks!
