Ok, to start, I am a total noob to linux and am in a bit of a bind.
To start I have an OLD laptop (Inspiron 3000, P233) and a dlink wireless card (DWL 650+)

DSL is awesome on it and actually quite fast. I am donating this machine but I just need to get the wireless working.

I have put the windows drivers on it and installed them using ndiswrapper. Beyond that, I dont know what to do. It still does not connect. I have run all the apps I see and this is what I get

ndiswrapper -l
airplus   driver installed, hardware present

iwconfig
lo   no wireless extension

I try to run wlcardconfig and I get
No wireless network card found

I run PCMCIA tool and it shows the card

ProdID_1="wireless Network cardbus PC card"
ProdID_2="Global"
ProdID_3=" "
ProdID_4=" "
MANFID=0097,8402
FUNCID=6

I also tried connecting with Prism2 and nada.

I know that the acx100 driver is also compatible but I have yet to try it since it appearently needs compliling and I am not there yet in my know how.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated, and please, slow step by steps. I am a total linux noob

Thanks in advance
