Dsl installed and works well, however, cannot configure internet connection.  NIC is recognized and functions ok.  ping to 127.0.0.1 and my gateway, 192.168.1.1 works, but I cannot connect.  Resolve.conf is:
search myhome.westell.com
nameserver 192.168.1.1

What am I missing?

I let my Westell's DSL Modem/Router provide the IP address via DHCP, as well as set the DNS server addresses.

DSL Control Panel-> Netcardconfig
 -- Use DHCP broadcast?  <Yes>

Otherwise, you have to set a static IP address that is in the subnet supported by your router, appropriate netmask, gateway, nameservers.

To check what you've got running (in a shell) check for "UP" in
# ifconfig eth0

I am trying to configure a Westell 6100 via usb so I won't have to get an ethernet card (this is a compaq 1681 laptop).  I can't find the drivers on the CD or I would at least try ndiswrapper.  Any suggestions?
