I have a ThinkPad 365ED (old - 500HD/24RAM) with a 16bit 3Com 10/100 LAN PC Card (pcmcia). DSL finds the card during boot up but that's as far as I can go. We get no signal from the network at all. I believe I need a Linux driver for it. The model is 3CCFE574BT. Does anyone have one or a generic driver that will work?
Will this card work at all with DSL or do I need to find a different card?

What version of DSL are you using? Have a look at dmesg to see if there are any errors reported when it finds the card.

andrewb,
I'm using the latest (3.0.1?), downloaded last week.

We got it figured out. Turned out to be a bad cable. Switched to a new one and - wha-la it worked. One issue I did encounter was the laptop freeezing up when I tried to get to a 2nd or 3rd page in a web site. The main one came up fine. The 2nd (forum) froze me up, not even any movement from the mouse. I figure it's the low RAM problem rearing it's ugly head AGAIN. Do you know if there is a way to use virtual RAM on the HD? I have a lot of HD space left over from the install.

You can use a swap partition or a swapfile.
