I need to be able to loginto my home LAN via a PPTP VPN client.  Any advice?  I am running the latest DSL on a USB pen drive.

Thanks for your help.

Interesting, but not a solution to my VPN needs.  Any other info?

Just wondering: how come the programs suggested in those threads not valid for your needs?

I guess it's because I dont get it.  I need to just simply install something that works for PPTP VPN or have precise step by step instructions.  Those threads werent either.

Can you direct me to what app to install for VPN?

I really like DSL- tried Slax and Puppy.  At this point I just need DSL to do Open Office and VPN and I'm in business.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

From what I gather, you'll have to compile a kernel module to use the pptpclient app.

To get the tools for compiling, check MyDSL (load these first)
- kernel sources
- one of the gcc*.* packages (compiler)

Of course you'll also need the app sources.  There should be some instructions on how to build it in it.

Possible reasons as to why there isn't precise instructions for this:
- not a lot of users want it
- quite a bit of people don't like to write docs
- compiling things just makes things more complicated under dsl

Is there a documentation on how to compile a patched kernel on dsl ? Is this a standard compilation or is there some steps to add in order to boot on the new kernel ?
