Hello! I got a new computer and i tried dsl on it. It seems that my internet connection is not working.Actually my nvidia nic is not even detected. Can you tell me please if the later version of dsl (i have dsl 2.4 i think) has support for nvidia cards?Or if the dsl i have now should work.

Anyone please?I tried netcardconfig...no network cards detected....i had some issues with this network card with freebsd too but i have solved them.I have an NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller...it works fine on Puppy Linux, but i want to use dsl if i make the network work...otherwise i will use puppy

You should give a try to current version (3.1). Even if it doesn't fix your pb, it will be easier then to help you.

What's your mobo?Have you tried to boot with the nodhcp cheatcode and then use netcardconfig? Posted by coder_gus on Dec. 08 2006,21:13
Ok...so with or without nodhcp i can't configure it with netcardconfig...it says "no supported network card found"My motherboard is Gygabyte GA-K8NMF-9 Posted by lgarner on Dec. 08 2006,21:22
Does the following command (run as root) help?"modprobe forcedeth" Posted by coder_gus on Dec. 08 2006,21:31
@lgarner: Can't locate module forcedeath. Thanks anyway lgarner! Posted by lgarner on Dec. 08 2006,22:05
It's "forcedeth" not "forcedeath" (no "a").

Sorry, i have nothing better to suggest than:- Find an old NIC somewhere and install it - Find linux driver for your mobo and try to compile them against DSL (Maybe < this > will help) Posted by Selim on Dec. 09 2006,22:16
Btw have you tried DSL-N?

@lgarner: is not working with modprobe forcedeth either@Selim: no,i haven't tried it yet Posted by lgarner on Dec. 11 2006,16:53

Googling NVIDIA nForce, seems some use Ndiswrapper with the following windows driver filesBCMWL564.sys netbc564.inf Then issue these command: sudo ndiswrapper -i netbc564.inf sudo ndiswrapper -l sudo modprobe ndiswrapper The results of sudo ndiswraper -l should displays results that a deive is present. Finally then try the wlanconfig program Posted by vilde on Dec. 12 2006,15:09
I also have problem with my Abit NF8, with Nvidia nForce, I haven't tried any fix because I only use DSL on that box very seldom, only as a rescue sometimes. But it's a pity that it will not run out of the box .
