Hi,
I m very impressed of the integration of modem dial-in with ppp.
It runs very! well with an external Elsa modem connected via serial port.
I want to configure the dial-in the same way on my second system which is running Debian Sarge.
Can you give me any information?

Do not know how to get that nice gui which supports "configure, dial, hang-up"
I do not know what is needed to get pppd to work the way it is does in dsl.
pppd is installed.

I don't know how to do that, but alternatively you could try using wvdial via apt-get - wvdial configures itself automatically and even discovered a wierd Winmodem setup and successfully connected to the Internet when I tried it.

The PPP dial GUI is something I wrote in Lua/Fltk as a front end to the standard CLI utiliities. It is a single script /usr/sbin/pppdial
If you copy it, you will also likely need the lua interepter to match. This depends on which version of dsl. Prior to 3.1 it would be flua, starting with 3.1 it is murgaLua, either should be located at /bin
