I have a Frugal install on the Dell LM p 133
On boot from Grub the 3com card is found and the light goes on solid. The
./network start eth0  Green Solid...later in the boot the dhcp call (background) is called and the light goes out and I can not get the card to connect. I have attempted to use DHCP and Static IP's using the netcardconfig utility.

Can I alter the grub commands to not have the script run the dhcp background call.

This device was working earlier today when run from the live CD can anyone suggest what I should check?

Add the boot option nodhcp to grub menu.lst

The light on the nic is solid but no ip ... netcardconfig failed too.
I'm not there yet.

Ok, I need to confess. I had a bad network cable and spent a week trying to understand why DSL wasn't working.

Of course it is working fine since, I replaced the cable... my bad.
