I have a Frugal install on the Dell LM p 133 On boot from Grub the 3com card is found and the light goes on solid. The ./network start eth0 Green Solid...later in the boot the dhcp call (background) is called and the light goes out and I can not get the card to connect. I have attempted to use DHCP and Static IP's using the netcardconfig utility. Can I alter the grub commands to not have the script run the dhcp background call. This device was working earlier today when run from the live CD can anyone suggest what I should check? Posted by roberts on Jan. 31 2007,16:50
Add the boot option nodhcp to grub menu.lst

I used lsmod from a terminal win sudo su and will type it across since it's not able to be pasted here perhaps a typo here and their Module size used by not tainted soundcore 3428 0 (auto clean) mousevdev 3832 0 (unused) HID 223772 0 (unused) input 3168 0 [mousedev hid] usbcore 57824 0 [hid] unionfs 68800 7 af_packet 13544 0 (auto clean) nls_iso8859-1 2844 0 (auto clean) nls_cp437 4348 0 (auto clean) serial 52100 0 (auto clean) 3c589_cs 7844 0 ds 6536 2 [3c589-cs] i82365 12580 2 pcmcia_core 39840 0 [i82365 3c589-cs] apm 7968 1 rtc 7036 0 (auto clean) cloop 8740 2 ide-cd 28512 0 ide-scsi 8816 1 This is on a frugal install 3.2 desk top reports Linux 2.4.26 on i586 host:box Posted by marc66thomas on Feb. 03 2007,21:26
