Here's how to use netzero on DSL at least:
1) Modem must be detected (/dev/modem) or driver installed
I have Lucent so DamnSL found it and installed for me
something no other distro has done that i know of
2) Download legal netzero.deb for linspire from netzero site
3) mydsl
   a) jre (java)
   b) dpkg
   c) firefox if you removed it (not dillo)
4) sudo dpkg -i netzero.deb
5) cd /opt/nzclient
   sudo nano runclient.sh
    change browser=mozilla to browser=firefox
    this browser will boot automatically
after connection established, use any browser,
but firefox seems to work best, dillo after initial firefox
page is loaded seems to work ok
6) Ready to run:
   sudo /opt/nzclient/runclient.sh
7) Fill in info for new/existing account as needed

Hope this helps anyone who may have needed it
and that i didn't leave anything out
