Leaky Dillo?

Was working with DSL to check its suitability for secure browsing, and discovered a disconcerting, borderline deal-breaking occurrence: Dillo leaks reverse-DNS info.  With the Tor/Privoxy extension running, showmyip.com will verify that Dillo is running an onioned ip.  However, at shieldsup! it very blithely reveals the true IP address via reverse-DNS.  Is there any way to close this hole?  I liked Dillo initially because I thought it would be more privacy friendly, but this has made me reconsider.  Ideas?

Did you set up dillo to use the proxy?

Got rc.firewall running?

Yes on both counts.  Dillo is configured to use Tor/Privoxy, as I mentioned, and in showmyip.com indicates the use of a tor router.  Only at shieldsup! does it reveal the actual IP.  Stumped, hoping I am missing something obvious.  Thanks.

Dillo is an abandoned project, but I think there are some updates after the DSL version....

That doesn't really sound like a dillo problem. Do you have the same problem when you use the built in firefox? How about the latest firefox availble a la extension? You can learn more about downloading and using extensions in the wiki.

This, in fact, doesn't really seem like an OS problem. Reverse DNS is given by your ISP, when someone already knows your IP address.

Your problem has nothing to do with reverse DNS. Do you have java installed? That is often a culprit of revealing a proxy user's true IP. Then again, I don't think java and dillo work together. This whole thing seems a little odd.
