Hello guys!

I would greatly appreciate some help to configure my wireless PC-Card so that it works with DSL. As mentioned it is a 3Com 11a/b/g PC-Card XJACK card. I'we found out that it has an atheros chip and it works right out of the box with many Linux versions. But now I'm stuck and need help badly. I'm totally stuck here. Any help greatly appreciated.

Have fun,
meo

The madwifi-ng driver you need is available in the UCI section of the repository. Use the mydsl browser (net section of the menu) or go here to get it:

EDIT: It's also available as a DSL extension in system:

Thanks lucky13!

I put the uci-file in the mydsl-directory so that it will get loaded at boot. But how do I configure it when the system is up? I have no idea. Thankful for any hints.

I should've asked which version you're running. DSL 3.2 includes the madwifi module.

Anyway, read this thread:

Two ideas for starting it. First, you can add entries in whichever wm menu to start, release, or kill pump. Second, make a little graphical box with buttons to do that. I just modified one that also has buttons to start and stop rc.firewall and threw it on my blog. It's not fancy at all but it works (you can also modify it to include other net daemons -- see DSL Network Tool under the pages link). Pic and code:

Hi again!

First of all I want to mention that I use DSL 3.3 (the latest). My wireless access point uses WPA so I tried to install wpasupplicant as indicated by the link to madwifi topic. That failed with the comment that the package doesn't exist. I tried both with stable and unstable sources so now I'm stuck again. If someone has an idea what to do please tell me!

Have fun with this unique distro,
meo

No need to do that, wpasupplicant was included as of DSL 3.2
