I read this on another Linux forum :

To anyone who wants to get serious about WPA encryption, I recommend Ralink-based wifi adaptors. The Ralink Linux driver is the only one which natively supports WPA. wpa_supplicant is then unnecessary.

and I see in the DSL wiki verified wifi cards that ralink is listed in the 'works out of the box'

Does this mean that any ralink chipset pcmcia cards will 'just work' with WPA in DSL. Does it just work in DSL without wpa_supplicant? Are they the best choice for (almost guaranteed) working WPA?

If that is true then this web page would be useful for anyone wanting to buy a card for DSL and wants to use it with WPA.

Maybe they do, search the rt* drivers/chipsets, but I know the rt2500 driver has problems for smp kernels.
