i've read all the posts about how to get one of these damn modems working but i just can get mine to work...the modem works fine in ubuntu (installed on hd along with xp) i used a .deb package to get it working... it extracted firmware etc, all that was required from me was to plug in my login details and let it know what number to dial. did this in ubuntu, no problems. DSL is causing a headache though. ive followed instructions to run speedtouchconf and all that, ive tried so many things i forget... tried to run wvdial today - was on usb boot, mounted my ubuntu partition, found the wvdial.dsl file with the mydsl app, but it doesnt seem to do anything. im in way over my head and extremely frustrated. i come back to DSL every month or so hoping that somehow there will be some development that allows me to use DSL fully with the modem, but not yet. latest release is pretty damn impressive, i'd love to use it, so can someone help with the net connection?! |
