DSL gives me conflicting network info. I am using Netgear MA401 v2.5 w/Orinoco chipset. I am running DSL on a Dell Latitude CPi. The card works in my other Dell CPi running CentOS 4.0 PC Card Control: sees it. Netcardconfig: No supported network cards found. wlcardconfig: No wireless card found. iwconfig setup: device: eth0 channel:6 sid: (whats this. what do I input here?) wep: (whats this. what do I input here?) sid = essid = your wireless AP's namewep = your Wired Equivalent Privacy key, if your wlan is encrypted Posted by borgward on July 10 2008,17:41
wireless AP ? What does AP mean? Where do I find it? Posted by curaga on July 10 2008,18:30
Access Point, it's your router most likely. You can see all these in CentOS's network manager..thingy. Don't know, haven't used it If not, iwconfig in centos should show you. Posted by borgward on July 10 2008,20:33
So anyway how do I get the card to work w/Damn Small Linux?

There's a button in the upper right hand corner of this page with "search" and a magnifying glass on it. Please click on that and then fill out the form on the page that comes up in your browser. You can enter terms with your model's name or how to use iwconfig and pump. You can also find these rudimentary Linux commands and howtos across the Internet via searching at Google.PS: Did you set up CentOS yourself? |
