I have downloaded iptables from MyDSL GUI, tried both Firewall-Easy and scripts for a basic firewall, even tried Firestarter.
Is there an easyway to get a firewall installed for DSL 0.8.1.1?
I just want a basic firewall for my DHCP client. Something simple to implement ( I know that iptables rules are anything but simple for the newbie).
When I tried Firewall-Easy it complained about "no /etc/firewall-iptables found" . The dhclient script probably failed do to wrong settings. Firestarter just froze when using Synaptic to install it.
   Any help will be appreciated.

I found rc.firewall script at "www.projectfiles.com/firewall" that is setup for workstations as a default. The script works right out of the box, but has the hooks for more complex configurations such as routers and servers.
The script and its brothers are used at Virgina Tech. It doesn't have a GUI, just works with iptables/netfilters.
I just downloaded the file to /etc/init.d, chmod 700 rc.firewall, then added the line "/etc/init.d/rc.firewall" in /etc/rc5.d/S99bootlocal. All this of course was done as root " sudo su"
If anyone sees a problem with this please let me know, as this is new to me.
