I cannot make my wireless usb asus wl-167g to work with ndiswrapper.

command : ndiswrapper -i rt2500usb.inf
returns no errror

command : ndiswrapper -l
returns : rt2500usb  Hardware Not Present

command : lsusb
returns :
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 0000:0000
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0b05:1706 ASUSTek Computer, inc

Following config files created
/etc/ndiswrapper/rt2500usb/0B05:1706.CONF
/etc/ndiswrapper/rt2500usb/0B05:1707.CONF

command: lsmod
Returns:
Module          Size     Used by
ndiswrapper  80040 0
.....
Usbcore        57824 1 [Ndiswrapper hid usb-ohc]

What is wrong ?

And just for the record:
How can Asus Claim to support linux when they dont supply a driver with the product and yuo cannot download it from their homepage. Yes I know there is drivers available on www.ralinktech.com, but they dont seem to support the usb-version.
