Connecting to a Windows PC...Forum: Networking Topic: Connecting to a Windows PC... started by: Ilya Posted by Ilya on Nov. 29 2004,03:45
DSL is the only Linux I have used and I've installed it recently on an outdated Windows PC(deleted NTFS). I have another PC next to it and they connect through a cable. The PC I am currently using right now(Windows XP) has an internet connection. How, step by step, would I allow the DSL PC to accept an internet connection from the Windows PC and access the Windows PC?I don't know much outside of Windows and I don't know many command line/console commands. You have them connected with a crossover cable?DSL doesn't like crossovers. As for samba, grab the samba.dsl from the repository, it gives you nice gui's for samba. If you need to learn how to use samba, try Googling it, as there are a lot of good manuals for it out there. -J.P. Posted by ico2 on Nov. 29 2004,14:48
