hello i am an extreme newbie to linux so i hope that someone can answer my probably stupid question. I have a usb adsl modem and I cannot connect to the internet whatever I do in dsl. I am just wondering if anyone can help me solve this problem. thanks in advance.

You should provide the specific model number of the modem and see if there is anything out there on Google for this modem and Linux in general or Knoppix because DamnSmallLinux is based on Knoppix.

A shot in the dark:

Open an Xterminal window and type:

sudo su
modprobe CDCEther
exit
exit

Then run the DSL / pppoe script from the Fluxbox menu.
