WPC54G v2 Lock-up

As some of you have seen I have a WPC54Gv2 PCMCIA card on my laptop. Everything works fine until I try to switch from my neighbors network to mine. Everything locks up. At first I thought it was the enc key, but evidently not. I have disabled wep and added mac addy filtering to the router.

Laptop is a p2 233 or 300 IBM Thunkpad. 64 megs of ram 3.7ish gig hd. Perfect for DSL HD install

Went to < ndiswrapper > and followed their stuff and still get same problems.

The lockups occur when I type
ifconfig wlan0 down
iwconfig wlan0 essid Satori channel 11
iwconfig wlan0

I see it connects all happily switches from B to G but about 10 seconds after I type iwconfig wlan0 essid.... it locks up. I have also tried w/o the channel switch.

Any ideas?
