I've got my wireless card (a Buffalo wli-cb-g54l) working OK with ndiswrapper, but I'm having problems enabling WEP.

With encryption switched off on my router I can connect without any problem - I've put "modprobe ndiswrapper" in the /opt/bootlocal.sh file, so the card comes on at boot, and then I run Netcardconfig from the DSL control panel, say "yes"  to "DHCP broadcast?" and the connection is up and running. (Incidently, is there a way to automate that too?)

This doesn't work, obviously, if the encryption on the router is turned on.

I've tried running Iwconfig and putting the ssid and wepkey there, but the DCHP broadcast fails.

If I run Wlanconfig to put in the key, the DCHP broadcast works, but then the machine immediately locks up. Sometimes it locks as soon as Wlanconfig has finished running.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong. But what?

I'm putting the key in as 13 hex numbers, in capitals, separated by colons ie A1:B2:C3 etc.

Thanks for your advice.

Does the card show up as wlan0 or eth0 when you do ifconfig?
