wow i cant believe there arent any nvidia network drivers for an nforce 3 250 chipset

pretty far behind the times to not have those arent you ?

maybe the new istro will have them

Or maybe if you asked about them someone might help, instead of going straight in with the insults.

no insult hoss but when i go to configure my network and it dont even see any type of network device... well   what is one to think
even the dullest of linux that i have used see's something as a network device it just lists it as unknown or something similar.

ok... than i will ask politely

is there a way to make the nforce 3 netowrk drivers be used or how can i set it up

Actually, it's very possible.

Most of us don't have that kind of money to throw at a computer.

Either way, give us a little more info on your board.

Make, model, etc.

thx saidin

i am rather surprised that someone around here dont have one they arent expensive
ok anyways.

nothing to explain or list.

its an nforce 3 network controller. its a gigalan but you should know that its 10/100/1000   you dont need to have 1000 enabled.
It's actually an ASUS K8N-E Deluxe

i guess i have an old netgear nic and another one sitting around. but i dont really see any need to sit there and swap the network cable everytime i want to boot to DSL.
does dsl even provide preinstalled nic drivers ?

here is the link to the nvidia unified drivers, you simply have to pull the network drivers from it, unless you wanna make a chipset driver release also
