Network Printer choicesForum: Networking Topic: Network Printer choices started by: linux_gal Posted by linux_gal on May 24 2005,00:20
I have to choose a printer for a network withfour computers and a router. I've discovered Win98 and the current printer refuse to operate within the addresses allowed by the router. I think a HP model would be good, but is has to be cheap to run also. Also, Black and White is the choice to keep costs down also... Most of the computers will have some uWin-OS, but many people like Linux and what to use DSL. Today was the topper! Now I need to print. Posted by cbagger01 on May 24 2005,03:19
HP Laserjet 1, 2, 3, 4 or 6 models are good choices.HP uses the PCL printing format, which is well understood by most OS. Of course the ideal solution would be a true postscript printer, but these are usually expensive. |
