On bootup it uses dhcp and configures properly.
But
I want to use a static IP. I can use netcardconfig gui and switch it.
but
I want to fix the bootup so that it comes up with the static ip by default instead of using DHCP.

Where do I change this setting?

Thanks for you help.

I tried that and it does in fact change it,
but
when I reboot the system comes up again using DHCP.

This has been answered a few times before - try searching for '/static'/ as the keyword and click on the box which says Search from and choose 'From the beginning'. One thread which comes up is < this thread >
