i have a us robotics 802.11g 54mbps usb wireless adapter model usr5422 and was wondering if i could get this to work with dsl because it wont recognise it on startup,is there a way to do it? or has anyone else had success,any help would be appreciated :-)

I dont have any experience with this card. Have you tried using ndiswrapper? I believe this allows you to use windows drivers for the card.

From a Google search, your chipset appears to be Prism Frisbee-based, so a dedicated Linux driver would be from the prism54 team at < http://prism54.org >I see on their development forum that they are discussing this adaptor but have not determined its inner workings yet. So, yes, ndiswrapper would be worth a try ... and if you're prepared to pay for a driver - on the Linuxant DriverLoader website the USR5422 is listed on the changelog page, which may suggest their driver will work. < https://www.linuxant.com/driverloader/wlan/changes.php > |
