Has anyone been able to compile this driver to compile under a 2.4 kernel?< http://sourceforge.net/projects/rtl8180-sa2400 > I've compiled it under 2.6 with no issues, but when I try to compile it in order to make a .dsl I get the following error:
I have the kernelsource.dsl, gcc tools and such installed and working. Any ideas, please? Posted by tempestuous on Sep. 30 2005,06:50
The kernelsource.dsl package is only the kernel headers. I think you need the full kernel source from < http://developer.linuxtag.net/knoppix....all.deb >Then you need to symlink a few directories, because the kernel source ends up in /usr/src/kernel-source-2.4.26, not /usr/src/linux-2.4.26 as you would expect. I have never used the DSL build tools, I have Knoppix 3.4 as a development environment for DSL. I just tried to compile this driver package now, and it failed. So then I tried the compilation in Vector Linux with a 2.4.26 kernel. This was successful, and there's a good chance the modules may work in DSL. Email me if you want them.
