I am using embedded DSL 1.5 on a 1GB USB drive on top of Windows XP.

When I do ifconfig eth0, I get the wrong IP information.  It shows an IP address that is not on this machine (from the wrong network).  For instance, it shows a 10.x.x.x address, but when I do an ipconfig from DOS in Windows, it shows the correct 147.x.x.x IP (via DHCP).  I can browse from DSL without trouble, but I just want to know why it shows the wrong IP?  Not only is the IP wrong, but the default gateway, DNS, and subnet mask are all incorrect.  None of the IP's that DSL show are anything close to what is correctly assigned to Windows.

Is there some trick that I"m missing?

DSL embedded is the DS Linux operating system that is running from a "virtual computer" created in software by the QEMU program.

This QEMU program creates a virtual network card for this fake computer system and it creates a virtual DHCP server to assign it an internal IP address.

In the real world, QEMU.EXE (with DSL running inside) is just another MSWindows program that accesses the network via your normal Windows network settings.

Please visit the qemu home page and doc site for more details.
