Help pls.....

As a noob I have finally got my DSL installed (yipee!) and I love it to bits.....

I currently use a Xircom Lan card to donnect to my broadband router but want to install my wifi usb dongle, the inf file suggest its is a ZD1211U based usb dongle. So far I have tried the command ndiswrapper -i /pathname/zd1211u.inf

It created a ndiswrapper directory and installs the inf file. But that is all I have been able to do...how do I install a USB wifi dongle???

The other odd thing is, after I reboot the ndiswrapper directory has gone and I have to do it all over agon...why is this?

As a fellow noob who also just got DSL & am setting it up as wireless I found myself in the same position. I´ve found the website for the guys who designed the ZD1211 chipset (ZyDAS) & they have a section on their website where you can download Linux drivers. I found it literally 5 minutes ago so I´m downloading them and will give an install a shot when I get a chance. But to avoid holding you up, the download page website is < here >. I hope this helps you, especially because I hope it´ll work for me too!!  :D

The dedicated Zydas driver will need to be compiled, but ndiswrapper should work fine.  See here for ndiswrapper instructions - < http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....;t=9453 >
