I see that DSL 2.0 now automatically detects Lucent winmodems and I was wondering if there are any plans to make it also detect Conexant modems?

Nope. There are too many conexant chipsets to even try to support 20% of them. We have more interesting plans for the space that those drivers would require. But, you can always compile the driver(s) you need and put them in the modules/ directory on your CD/usb pen. ~J.P. Posted by khurdp on Oct. 29 2005,00:59
go to < http://freax.be/wiki....laptop. >go to modem, there is even a key generator there but I don't think you can use it since it is for 2.6 kernel drivers b'cos DSL uses 2.4 kernel. You might have to compile and install drivers from an older tar.gz for the 2.4 kernel. You might even get an old free version. -Prasad Posted by Guest on Nov. 03 2005,08:39
They have got conexant HCF & HSF modem drivers working in Puppy Linux. Since it also uses a 2.4.x kernel y'all ought to be able to obtain their drivers and make them work on DSL. Here is a link to one of their forum threads, which also has download links to the modem drivers: < http://www.murga.org/%7Epupp....43ba7b0 > Hope this helps y'all out some. |
