PI-120 with 32M
Well I got it installed and I'm duel booting with win98se. My sound card(ES688 Audio) and net card(PCMCIA 3CXEM556) still need to be sorted. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't know 'mod probe' from 'moon rock'.  :)  DSL is a lot faster than win98.

Thanks,
Bad Dog

OK I got the audio to work, now I understand there is some simple way to make the settings stick so I don't lose them after I reboot, would someone be kind and give me a clue as to what I do with these settings.

Also it seems that DSL will not see my net card on boot, I understand I need to tell DSL that my net card is there and to load it at boot or something like that, could someone please explain how I can do this?

Thanks,
Bad Dog

If you open a terminal window and type:

sudo su
modprobe 3c589_cs
netcardconfig
exit
exit

does networking work?

Settings that go in a script can be made permanent by putting the path to the script in /opt/bootlocal.sh
Settings that need to be modprobed, like sound, can also be put into the /opt/bootlocal.sh in most cases, without sudo su, because the /opt/bootlocal.sh script is already run as root on bootup.

I gave this a try  the other day and I tried it again just now. It don't work, that's why in the second post I ask about telling DSL on boot about the net card being there. When I type the above, I get:"No supported network cards found"

Sure in win98 and on all of my other computers.

Thanks for the reply,
