bootlocal.sh questionForum: Laptops Topic: bootlocal.sh question started by: noobuser Posted by noobuser on Jan. 12 2006,03:29
i have a toshiba tecra 730xcdt and though i can't get sound to automatically start using the bootlocal.sh i can get it working by opening aTerminal and typing sudo modprobe cs4232 io=0x534 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0 and hitting return. i've tried entering modprobe cs4232 io=0x534 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0 in bootlocal.sh as well as many of the other lines people have suggested for people with the cs4232. none work for me. as dsl boots i can see a couple of lines that might give clues: cs4232.c: I/O port 0xfffffacc not free /lib/modules/2.4.31/drivers/sound/cs4232.o: init_module: No such device any suggestions? and is there any other simple way to automate the sudo line above on bootup? i'm booting from the hard disk. yes i've tried 'sudo' in front of the modprobe line in bootlocal.sh. i've googled one suggestion for commenting out a couple of port lines in /etc/pcmcia/config.opts but these are part of the 'read only file system' and i haven't been able to change permissions. thanks, noob |
