I want DSL to install to my HD so it acts like a regular OS (and I still need windows).  Right now it won't even boot, but hopefully that will be fixed soon.

However, everytime I've gotten it to install to the HD, it fails to run properly.  Either during x-setup, or after it's booted, it will just freeze, and NOTHING will unfreeze it (except holding down the power button obviously).  This happens at just random intervals, and I can't figure out why it would be freezing like this.  Any suggestions?

If you still need Window$, this is my suggestion:-

hda1 - Window$
hda2 - swap
hda3 - ext2 (DSL boot image) ~ 75-100 MB
hda4 - ext2 (Backup/Restore, MyDSL and data)

Please install DSL GRUB Frugal after Windows installation. Window$ can show on the last one on GRUB menu.

That sounds like a hardware problem. Open up your  computer and unplug everything, then plug everything back in and make sure things are seated properly.
