I am currently trying to install dsl on a really old laptop without even a CD drive. i managed to put the KNOPPIX folder on c:/ as described in poormans install but with the help of an old zipdrive. I use the knoppix boot floppy disc to boot up and it all seems to work well.
but then at a certain point it says:
INIT: version 2.78 knoppix booting
INIT: no inittab file found

enter runlevel:

i tried runlevel 1-5 but it always freezes right there. it says:
INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel

what am i doing wrong?

Try to copy all the files from cd to the hd.
Boot folder, Knoppix folder, Lost+found folder and index.html.
Including all the files in them.

It should work after that.
