Kernel PanicForum: Laptops Topic: Kernel Panic started by: TGeek Posted by TGeek on May 23 2006,14:56
I'm using a D-Link DWS-G630 wifi card in my laptop. I modprobe the ndiswrapper module after I boot up and it detects my card and the cards hops on to my local router and everything is cool. The problem occurs when I use Dillo or I try to download more than one thing at a time. The computer just freezes or if I am at a command prompt, I get the kernel panic error and dump. I don't have this problem with a wired connection. Could this be a problem with the ndiswrapper module? I'm using the latest drivers from D-Link. My only alternative, which I loathe, is to try another linux and compile the ndiswrapper and/or madwifi modules and the kernel from source. This would require a TON of time on the 133mhz cpu. I would visit the ndiswrapper web site for info on the correct driver file version to use with the program. It is not always good to use "the latest version" with ndiswrapper.
