Posted by linuxno0b on Jan. 02 2004,03:48ok, heres the problem. ive got an old 486sx lappy with 4 megs of ram and a 120 meg hdd, has a floppy, but no cdrom. currently it has "small linux" on it with about an 20 meg swap partition. i would LOVE to be able to somehow get DSL on this machine, but im not sure how to go about doing it with no cdrom and such a small hdd. also there is the problem of so little ram, i would appreciate any suggestions of how i might go about doing this. oh also, i have a parellel port zip drive, i was thinking maybe i could find a way to boot from it, but im not sure if its possible.

You may be able to get it to boot in console (text) mode with the 'knoppix 2' boot command.
