On bootup I get the following line:

"pcmcia card servises release does not match "
cardmgr [59]

I'm trying to configure a wifi pccard on a Hitachi Visionbook plus 4000. wlcardconfig does not find either of my wifi cards; linksys WPC11 or SMC smc2635w

Is there a way to tell if the slots are being recognized?

that sounds like the same bug that plagues me on my dell inspiron 8600.

it is supposed to be fixed in the latest version of cardmgr, but i don't know whether or not John will update for 0.7.3.

i usually have to just boot: dsl nopcmcia

The cardmgr has been upgraded in the next release 0.7.3 to be released RSN.

Roberts,

This is the second time I've heard of the acronym "RSN" and for the life of me I cannot figure out the meaning.

What does RSN mean?

Thanks

real soon now = RSN

Yup, RSN real soon now, I think everyone will like the new stuff in 0.7.3. It is ready to go. Again, many things from posts from all our user base plus features John and I come up with. If you listen to John's interview I think it is set for early in the week.

jbolt,

I also have a Hitachi Visionbook, mine is a 4140x. I have been using it with DSL since the.4.0 days and the card maager works fine with my Orinoco gold card and my Linksys WPC11 V.3 card, however it won't work with the Linksys WPC11 V.4 card (to new, no drivers I guess). So I am not sure what the problem might be with youre's.
