I've installed DSL on one of my laptops that I use frequently for Net Admin tasks, and  I love it!!  It is a ThinkPad A20p. Pentium III 700MHz with 384MB RAM

When I try to shut down from the menu, it appears to do nothing.   If afterwards I try to go to a shell and shut down, it will not let me type.  Any help would be appreciated.

Also, since I am fairly new to Linux, what program do I use to HyperTerm from my serial port.  I need to be able to console into routers with this laptop, and telnet is no always an option.

Thanks,

IGOR

UPDATE--got the laptop to shut down. Still trying to figure out the hyper term thing

I picked up these programs on the first page of my google search.
The device to connect to will probably be /dev/ttyS0
