Hello evrybody I'm new to DSL, but not new to linux. My english is kind of crappy so sorry about that. I'm trying to reanimate my old laptop for a gift. My girlfriend has been using it with windows 98 and I wan to show her the beatiful linux world :] Anyhows i tryied to install debian 3.1 on it and evrything went almost great, becouse i couldn/t get sound working after a week of struggle I run on how to install DLS on my laptop with sound great thing, and i got my hopes back. I couldn't get sound in debian 3.1 so i install DSL on HDD a it's working but... and this is my question how to turn the volume up becouse it's working very silently (i bolded up becouse it the most important thing now). And second question how can i get .config for kernel or how can i enable botsplash or something similar to look good on startup. I would like to make it look as beast as it can becouse if it's looks beater she will fiell beater.

For volume, use the dMix control in the bottom right corner.Bootsplash has been achieved by anothe user in this forum, you may want to contact them. Kernel source is available in myDSL. Posted by Jeena on Sep. 08 2006,04:51
Who was it? I can't find anything about that bootsplash thing here in this forum. Could one please show me how to use splash=silent with DSL? Posted by ^thehatsrule^ on Sep. 08 2006,13:52
I believe I was referring to this post:< http://damnsmalllinux.org/cgi-bin....t=14465 > but he didn't get the progress bar working There's also bootsplash.org, which was referenced heavily by other forum users. |
