Netcard:Via VT6102 Rhine II Fast Ethernet adapter
Modem: Bewan ADSL Ethernet 100
DSL 3.2RC1

My problem is I can’t connect to the Internet.

When running PPOE I get:

"Sorry, I scanned 1 interface(s), but the Access Concentrator of your provider did not respond. Please check the network card and modem cables. Another reason for the scan failure may be another running pppoe process which controls the modem"

When running IFCONFIG I get

eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:0C:6E:1C:52:24
         inet addr:86.220.117.166  Bcast:86.220.117.166  Mask:255.255.255.255

         TX packets:18 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
         collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
         RX bytes:6324 (6.1 KiB)  TX bytes:5686 (5.5 KiB)
         Interrupt:11 Base address:0xae00

lo        Link encap:Local Loopback

         collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
         RX bytes:533 (533.0 B)  TX bytes:533 (533.0 B)

I don’t know if the following can help but I can connect to the Internet automatically when running Zenwalk 3.0
When running Ubuntu I get the same PPOE message as above and a message about MTU being 1492 instead of 1500.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
