I'm trying to install DSL on my IBM Thinkpad i1300 1171-340 (500MHz Celeron, 128 Ram, 6GIG hard drive (510MB swap hda1, rest ext3 hda2)

When I'm doing the preinstall stuff, the swapon /dev/hda1 comes up with Device or resource busy.

I'v rebooted and went to the ATerminal and did this.

NOTE: I ahve to boot this laptop with the fb800x600 boot option to get the desktop to fit.

Any help?... ideas?

Thanks...

That is typically an error you would get when the device /dev/hda1 is already being used.

If you had already done a mkswap on /dev/hda1 then upon boot up of DSL it will already be used as a swap partition. You swapon command would not be needed.

You can check with the 'free' command.
