The HD Install on this Tecra 780CDM PII 266 with 148MB RAM was smooth after enabling PCIC for PCMCIA devices in BIOS.

Using 1024X768-32bit GUI. DSL is the only OS on this 4GB HD. Boots up fast. 2nd life for this old beast of a laptop.

Now here's the problems:

Can't get sound nor modem to work:

Yamaha 3D sound effect-enabled (OPL3-SA3 Chipset)
-I tried sudo mount opl3sa2 and opl2sa. Not working

Modem K56Flex with DSVD, V.34 and V.80 support for Video Conferencing
Type V1.1 Lucent Modem with up to 48-50 Kbps “downstream” transfer speeds

-Bios says it's on Com 2
-Using /dev/ttyS1 doesn't work. Daemon says modprobe "Can't locate sound-slot-0 and sound-service-0-0 ???????
So I guess this is related to my sound card issue as well.

Anyone with the same laptop having trouble?

Here's the specs on the laptop:

For sa3 I think you need to use `modprobe sb`

For lucent modems, I think it uses the magic number 14 or something... /dev/ttyS14
