problem booting dsl (modprobe fb0)

i have an old toshiba cds 4000 (266mhz,32mb ram and 2ish gig hd)
i can install from disk (no desktop only text) but it hanges up with a modprobe fb0. i have looked around and not found anything that seems to solve the problem, any help would be great.

I used to have the same problem. I'm not sure I fully remember how to correct the problem, but it may be the result of an incorrect setup of x-windows. Try every way of setting up xsetup.sh that you can. If none of them will work, you may need a different video driver. In my case I needed XF86_SVGA and an appropriate XF86Config file.
