hi there,

I have a older PII 333 Tecra 8000 with one of those magic chips, and it wont boot past the line that mentions .Xauthority.I just get a cursor and nothing else happens, and wondering if anyone can help me with this.

Which cheatcodes did you boot with?

Start by trying Xfbdev (boot with "dsl xsetup")

ok thanks for reply, and it seems I was making a error in regard to not using the default mouse mode not thinking it would work , since my laptop is old enough and has that nasty little rubber nub thing in between keys ...really annoying but hey its all I have atm.

Ill post now on networking area of forum for further help as I 'm definitely stuck with that.
