Toshiba Satellite 1555CDS, when loading from the combination boot floppy and USB drive, hangs up at
"...Processor 0 is AMD-K6™ 3D processor 380MHz, 64 KB Cache"
Can anyone help me here? I've tried just about everything I know how, and it's making me feel noobish... even though I AM a newb...
*cries*
I can install Gentoo, yet for some reason DSL eludes me. ???

I also get this when attempting to boot from the onboard CD on a sattelite 2100CDS.  Anyone have any ideas?

I have a 7xxCDT (can't remember) and had a similar problem.  Try booting with "dsl nopcmcia".  That worked for me.  Unfortunately, now you don't have any PC cards.

Solution was to go into the BIOS and change PCMCIA type from autoselect to Cardbus/16.  Now it boots just fine.  (Of course, I still have to tell it to use framebuffer.)

 Thank you very much! disable PCMCIA... I pretty much tried everything but that until this point, and that was all I needed to do. I never use my PCMCIA slots.
